Just wanted to take a moment and thank Island Cruisers for a great experience! We were a little nervous of the jeep wrangler rental as it was an older model, however once we were out in the beach and passing brand spanking new jeep wrangler models with lift kits and the huge tires literally stuck in the inner coastal road bogged down, we knew we were in great shape, lol! Even though out model was older, it was very well cared for and both the husband and wife of Island Cruisers were great to work with. Could not have asked for nicer folks. They gave us SO much information, not only about Shelly Island, but all of the other treasured parts of the island. The information book was fantastic! We had a blast and will definitely rent a jeep next fall as this will be a yearly tradition from now on. Thanks Island Cruisers!!!!! You were right on about the area down past the museum!
Sorry it has taken me a few weeks to post this. These folks are FANTASTIC! We called at 9:00 PM when our car broke down. They had already closed for the day. She was so nice and understanding. She picked us up and drove us back to the office opened up and took care of everything. We are very grateful to them and hope you will give them your business when you visit the island. Thank you very much.
Valerie & Eric at Island Cruisers are warm, friendly and professional. They provided excellent service and answered all our questions. Our Jeep Wrangler handled beautifully and we had an amazing couple of days cruising the beaches of Hatteras Island. We made lots of great memories and look forward to returning to Island Cruisers again and again.
The experience started off by them not having any of my info when I arrived to pick up vehicle. Luckily they had a vehicle available for us. The young lady that did the paperwork and got us set up was very nice and very helpful through the process. They provided a lot of helpful advice. The jeep was 20 years old and had 214,000 miles. The air conditioning didn't work, the breaks didn't work very well and it had a wobble in the front end. We kept the top down so the ac didn't really matter. We drove a lot in the beach and had no issues. It did what it was supposed to. If it would have rained the ac would have been a issue. My main issue was when I returned it, the first thing out of the mans mouth that worked there was" why did you drive through the water". I advised him that I did not drive through the ocean water that it was high tide and the wind was blowing in from the ocean and there were puddles of water where the water was he continued to explain how hard it made his job and how damaging it was to the vehicle and how he could tell I drove through the ocean because of the water that was splashed up on the front of the jeep and that his whole life of driving on the beach he never had to drive through water very condescending did not like being accused of something I didn't do.they didn't try to charge me extra for it but I did not appreciate how I was treated I think in the future I will spend the extra $45 and rent a new Jeep from the other place
Best ever! We had the time of our lives cruising the Outer Banks in our Jeep. Thanks for a great vacation!
